So I saw the post on Marios instagram in September and told my partner how much I would love to go so a few days later, my partner told me I was going to Dubai and going to the class! I was literally ecstatic and felt like I was dancing on clouds for weeks :)
Flights and hotel all booked, bags were packed and literally 4 days before we left the class got cancelled. Understandable after what happened to Kim in Paris but still disappointing none the less. I couldnt get reimbursed for my flight or the hotel so I was pretty gutted. Obviously I still flew and I had an amazing time!
The class was rebooked for January but aprehensive as to wether the class would be cancelled again, I didnt book my flight or hotel until the week before the event, just incase. Two days before the even British Airways were going on strike and because of that the other airlines doubled their prices. I decided to fly on the Monday to be safe.
I flew from Manchester to Heathrow (hour delay) landed in Heathrow and my flight to Dubai was CANCELLED! I couldnt believe it. After staying in a hotel in London, the next morning, I changed airlines and flew to Dubai. I landed 13 hours later than planned and waited for my suitcase.... my case had been put onto the wrong flight! Seriously you couldnt write this stuff!! Got my case back the next morning, Wednesday by this point and I was then really worried something else would go wrong.
Friday came and off I went. Almost 2 hours of waiting outside the venue (met so many lovely people in the queue though) I was finally inside! I got my seat 10 rows from the front, although it wouldnt have mattered where I sat as the screen was so big everyone could see and in great detail! There was a Mario branded notebook and pen on my seat aswel as a bottle of water. the screen behind was displaying pictures of thr pair from the time they first met up until now, showing the change in make up trends and how much they have grown together.
Then Mario walked on stage. Crowd goes wild and then he introduces Kim!! No make up, wearing a vest top and ripped jeans still looking like pure perfection. Crowd going even wilder.
A few words from both and then the class started.
WOW WOW AND WOW! What else can I say about this class but WOW!
It was literally a dream come true and exceeded my expectations. I dreamt about this class for months and was so excited to go but I had so many set backs I was actually starting to wonder if I would end up going! Mario demonstrated his look on Kim, going for a soft smokey eye and emphasising flawless skin.
He spoke about each step in a lot of detail, explaining what he was doing and why. The audience were asking questions one at a time and he was answering the more sensible questions amid the chorous of "we love you Kim, we love you Mario..." before every question. Eventually we grew tired of the repetive and unnecessary questions so we asked for the questions to cease.
I made so many notes throughout the class, writing as much detail as I could about all the steps he was doing.
We had a little break where they had food outside - actually well prepared buffet style food but not what you find at your local pub this was celeb style food!
Class resumed and this time he got the camera to zoom in on the eyes so we could see exactly what he was doing. He literally puts so much product on her face but because he blends and blends you would never believe just how much make up she has on!
I learnt so much from the class. I honestly didnt expect to learn as much as I did, Now was the meet and greet. The bit I had been anticipating for months, What the hell do you say when you meet Kim Kardashian!!?? Her and Mario were stood on the red carpet waiting to greet us, she asked me did I enjoy the show and thanked my for coming whilst Mario didnt actually say anything until after our photo (I wasnt ready and I was devestated with my pic). He then thanked me for coming. I cant believe I actually met them. Kim is literally tiny! I imagined her to be a UK size 10-12 but she was much smaller, she was like a little doll. Absolutely gorgeous.
Then we got given our kit. It was literally huge! The bag was branded with Marios name and was so heavy. I felt like I was guarding it with my life all the way back to the hotel. I was already on cloud 9 after having the most unreal day but openning that bag I was literally in beauty heaven. Make up from the best brands in the world, an entire range of products that were also used by Mario in his class. There was also the most amazing skin care too, ranging from high street brands such as nivea to a 24k gold face mask worth $995!!!
This course was literally the best day of my life. Its a day I will remember forever. The entire things feels like a dream and the people I met from all over the world were the nicest people you could meet. It was overwhelming to see so many inspirational faces that I follow on instagram with 100,000 plus likes and realising they were at the same event just as normal as everyone else, just as excited to see Mario work his magic.
I wish I could relive that day all over again. Loved it xxx

Primers - do we need them and which product is best?
One of the most common questions I am asked is "do I really need a primer, can't I just use a moisturiser?"
Basically, no. Primers are designed to sit on the skin to smooth out lines, hide blemishes, erase pores, colour correction, matify or even give a luminous glow. There are a multitude of products out there and many brands now do an entire range of products to suit different skin tones and individual requirements.
Ever wondered why your make up has started to become oily or slide off by the afternoon? Primers also grip any product you place on top of them, holding your make up in place all day!
So, how do you use your primer?
Cleanse, tone and moisturise as normal. Apply a pea sized amount to your make up brush and gently brush onto your face. A little goes a long way with these products. You can apply with your fingers but I dont like touching my face as hands are greasy and you want to avoid excess shine on your face if possible.
Tried and Tested
Smashbox - literally love this primer! It is generally priced around the £30 mark but it is amazing! It feels so silky when it goes on and I found my foundation looked flawless and lasted all day! I haven't tried the other versions that this primer comes in but I have heard they are just as amazing.
Nyx HD Primer - I do like this primer but I wouldn't rave about it. Its cheap and the make up does sit on nicely but is very watery and I find you waste quite a lot. Not ideal for make up artists when you dont have time to be too careful.
Nyx Born To Glow Illuminator - Not strictly a primer but it can be used as a foundation base. If this is how you plan to use it then I suggest using an emolient moisturiser first. If you have oily or combination skin, used sparingly as a primer, this will give you the pefect glow. But if you have dry skin, it seems to collect on dry areas and the foundation looks caked on.
Maybeline Baby Skin primer - like many brands, there are now different versions of this but I have only tried the original. Its priced around £7 so a decent price for anyone wanting to use it. I like the gel like consistency and a little does go a long way. I find the foundation does look smoother too so definately a good buy. Only downfall for me is that when its cold, it does harden slightly and makes it harder to spread as evenly.
L'Oreal Infallible Primer - this is what I have been using lately and I have to say I really like it! Its cost effective yet gives foundation that long lasting finish. It doesn't dry the face out either which I was worried about. Definitely one for the kit!
Illamasqua Hydra Veil - perfect for dry skin! This is such a hydrating primer and evens skin tone. A little more pricey but worth it if you want that truly flawless base.
Becca Backlight Filter Primer - at £30 a bottle this is definitely on the higher end of the price sale. However it is worth every penny! It is so light reflecting and gives such a radiant look. If you want to invest in glowing skin all night long then this is the primer for you!!
